Overview
The Anagimala Falls are situated in Kanneliya Biosphere Reserve at Udugama in the Galle District. Travelling through the Kanneliya Forest Conservation, a three km trek leads you to the fall.
This multi-necklace waterfall is livelier in the moths of May to June. The area is a natural wild flower garden with various orchids and kaleidoscopic butterfly multitudes, lending a riotous spasm of colour. A fable reveals that a young pregnant damsel committed suicide here and her calls can supposedly be heard in the fall as the water gushes down, hitting the rocks.
