Overview
Built in 1905, it is active, with a focal plane of 13 m (43 ft) and emits a red flash every three seconds. The 12 metre (36 ft) round stone tower with lantern and gallery is painted white.
It is located at the south end of the detached breakwater protecting the Colombo Harbour, marking the north side of the western entrance and is accessible only by boat.
