Overview
The 100m-high Eli Hatha Falls encapsulates a series of seven falls, each identified by a number. The first can be viewed from the Udaboda Estate (Kegalle District). To view the second fall, walk past Maliboda Bazaar, through Uda Malimboda, Nuriya, Thalawa and on to Dickwella Mountain. The other five falls are difficult to reach.
Sri Lanka is blessed with many breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls and the largest number is located in the Ratnapura District, where there are over 100 waterfalls. Be sure to see some in the cool climes of Nuwara Eliya too, where the water crashing down in all its beauty is guaranteed to enthral.
Sri Lanka’s waterfalls have interesting names and stories behind them, which are mostly related to folklore and legends, which make for interesting bits of information.
